"Avatar" sequel stills announced, Edie Falco's new role debut

A photo of the sequel to "Avatar", which has entered the post-production stage, has been exposed a few days ago. In the stills, a new character appeared, General Admore played by Edie Falco. Like most films before director James Cameron, women once again played an important role in the film.

In addition to Edie Falco, the Chinese actress Michelle Yeoh will also play a scientist named Karina Mogg in the film. The specific character setting is still unknown. Several sequels of the "Avatar" series were shot at the same time, which is the first time in film history. Regarding the story of the film, director James Cameron said: "The five films have a complete and huge story, but each film is independent of itself, so this is not like "Lord of the Rings". I will watch another one after a year."

"Avatar" is currently filming smoothly in New Zealand. In September, Cameron also stated that "Avatar 2" and "Avatar 3" have basically been filmed. Affected by the epidemic, the sequel to "Avatar" was postponed overall. However, Cameron said earlier that the postponement of the release does not mean that the crew will have an extra year to shoot the film. If all goes well, "Avatar 2" will be released on December 16, 2022.
